REMEND CORNEAL EYE GEL 10x3ml - Dogs, Cats & Horses
 
Remend Corneal Gel is indicated for use as an aid to healing in superficial corneal ulcers in dogs, cats and horses. In order for superficial corneal ulcers to heal, it is necessary for cells to migrate from the edges of the defect, and re-epithelialise the area that has been lost. 
 
The cross-linked HA in Remend Corneal Gel provides an environment that facilitates cell migration, making it a valuable aid to the healing process.
 
Containing 0.75% Hyasent-S (modified, cross-linked HA), Remend Corneal Repair Gel can be beneficial to veterinary practices when a high concentration of HA may be needed or desired for treatment of superficial corneal ulcers.
 
Offers convenient daily administration options (two to three times a day) for some dogs.

Hyaluronic Acid:
The main component in Remend products is hyaluronic acid (HA), a non-immunogenic molecule found widely throughout human and animal tissues. Hyaluronic acid fulfils many biological functions including:
 
Promoting wound healing and helping to reduce scarring
Cushioning and lubrication
Maintaining tissue hydration
 
The rapid degradation of naturally occurring HA in vivo has traditionally limited its clinical applications. Through advanced technology it has become possible to chemically modify HA by cross linking the molecules.
