FELIWAY CYSTEASE CAPSULES FOR CATS

Feliway Cystease (Formerly Cystease Advanced) Urinary Tract Support supplement for cats has been designed to support the bladder lining of your cats.

Feliway Cystease is available in pots of 30's or 300's.

Ceva have launched Feliway Cystease, a new urinary tract support supplement for cats. An elaboration on the original product, Cystease S, the new version contains N-acetyl glucosamine, L-tryptophan and Hyaluronic Acid.

The integrity of the bladder lining can be adversely affected by stress, so Cystease Advanced has been designed to help support the bladder lining while reducing stress-related behaviour in cats. There are many factors that can cause stress in cats such as inter-cat conflict, moving house, new arrivals to the home environment and car travel, to name just a few.

Feliway Cystease should be taken orally, either given whole or broken open and mixed with food, and it is recommended that it should be used with Feliway to achieve the best results.

Feline Cystitis
Cystitis

is a very common and distressing condition affecting the cat.  It is associated with the following signs:
Diffuculty and/or pain when trying to urinate
An increase in the frequency of urination, but only producing small amounts each time.
Blood in the urine

There are a number of possible medical caused, so it is important that your cat is examined by a veterinary surgeon.  Also, if your cat is straining and not able to pass any urine, then there may be a blockage.  In these cases emergency treatment to 'unblock' the bladder is needed.

A high percentage of cystitis cases, however, are said to be 'idiopathic' i.e. not associated with a medical cause.  This commonly occurs in cats which have an exaggerated response to stress.

Possible Stress factors: - Moving House, Building work, Inter-cat conflict (for example in multiple cat households), new arrivals in the home (pets or people), owner stress, reduced access to outdoors, boarding in a cattery, cat travel, loud noises, etc.

Management of the disease:
When managing this condition it is important to look at measures to help restore the bladder lining and, where possible, reduce and eliminate stress factors.
