PERIDALE CAPSULES FOR CATS

Peridale capsules for cats is a bulking agent for the control of stool consistency in cats following surgery or the management constipation and diarrhoea.

An adequate supply of drinking water is essential during treatment.

Each pot of Peridale for cats contains 100 capsules.

Dose guideline:

Cats one capsule twice daily (Morning & Night)

Kittens: 1 capsule daily.

Presentation Clear gelatin capsules enclosing orange-coloured granules. Each Peridale capsule contains: sterculia 118 mg.

Uses: Bulk promoting agent, exerting its effect mainly by a hydrophilic action. The sterculia in Peridale takes up as much as 60 times its own volume of water, forming a gelatinous mass. This increases the bulk of the intestinal contents, promotes peristalsis and helps to ensure the easy passage of a soft stool. Sterculia is an otherwise inert substance, not absorbed and so not exerting any systemic effect.

Indications in cats:
- Control of specific and non-specific diarrhoea.
- Control of faecal consistency following surgery.
- After-surgery constipation
.

The capsule may be given directly, or the contents sprinkled on food. If the capsules are to be opened, the contents should be sprinkled on a small amount of food immediately before consumption.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc Foreign body impaction where enterotomy or enterectomy is urgent.
In all cases, adequate supportive therapy should be administered where necessary. During treatment, fluid should be provided or a moist diet given. If signs of disease persist or appear, consult your veterinary surgeon.

If you notice any serious effects or other effects not mentioned in the data sheet, please inform your veterinary surgeon.
